Jeep is a sport utility vehicle manufacturer. The most popular explanation of the origin of the name of the company is that ‘jeep’ stands for "GP" (for "Gov. Purposes" or "General Purpose"). Since 1987 it has been the division of Chrysler. This automobile marque has been on the market since 1941, when Willys produced the first Civilian Jeep (CJ). At the present time, the corporate office of the company is based in Toledo, Ohio, USA. Jeep model list is rather impressive. Among the recent cars are Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Commander, Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot.
