Verified Reviewer | Sully, VirginiaFaulty Jeep - Complaint
I test drove a black 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited at the Fair Oaks Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership in Chantilly, Virginia. The vehicle VIN# 1C4HJWDG2GL164854.
After I test drove the Jeep, I informed the sales person Abdul Wahab and the managers Hermann Cuadros, Mab Coffers, Max B.
Doust and Tom Nguyen of my test drive experience.
As I left the dealership parking lot to take the jeep for a test drive, the jeep started to smell of smoke. The smell of smoke only got stronger as I went down the road, so I had to open up the windows to get some fresh air. I informed the sales person and managers of the issue and they stated that the vehicle had just gotten an oil change. They stated that they would wash down the vehicle and to test drive it again.
I am experienced enough to know that that smell wasnt oil, rather it smelled more like an electrical problem. After my second test drive, not only did I smell the same smell from the first test drive, I also smelled a secondary smell, which was starting to make me feel ill, so I opened up the windows to get fresh air. I informed the sales person and the managers of said issue. They didnt state that they would look into the problem further nor show us another vehicle, rather just let us walk out the door.
They were trying to avoid the conversation. Then, the following two days, they kept sending me emails to test drive the same vehicle.
They also reposted the vehicle online without even having a master mechanic look into the issue at hand. This is a very unhealthy and unsafe vehicle to have customers test drive!

Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: Please make sure to not only test drive the vehicle, but to test ALL of the components inside the vehicle. This will help give you an idea if there are any underlying electrical problems that the vehicle may have.

Verified ReviewerEVAP SYSTEM LEAK Emission code
I recently got a service engine error code on a 2019 Jeep Renegade Sport that I just purchased at the very end of September. I took it to the diagnostic shop.
First I was informed the warranty wouldnt cover the scan to be done so that was $100 out of my pocket. Well after the scan was completed they found that the locking door in the filler neck keeps getting stuck and will not close. Well after hearing this Im informed the warranty wont cover to fix the issue. Cost of fixing this is going to be $537.26 minus what I just paid for the scan.
So I still will owe $439.56. The company I bought the car from is going to cover $200 of the cost to fix it. Im wondering if you will goodwilling cover the remaining $239.56? I was told that this issue wont create any problems with the car however this will cause me to fail emissions test when I go next year to get it inspected.
Seems after buying this car I have been met with obstacle after obstacle dealing with it. First it was parked in the parking lot at work 2 weeks after buying it and a guy driving down the road lost his tire that literally rolled down a hill into a parking lot right into my driver side rear end.
I have had to deal with the guys insurance company not wanting to pay the amount its going to cost to fix it, then I had to deal with an error with the odometer reading where the number on the car wasnt matching paperwork, and now Im dealing with this issue. So Im kindly asking as a loyal driver of your product if you could help me in getting this taken care of, so I can finally enjoy riding around in a very nice comfortable vehicle with peace of mind, and less stress.
Thank you

Accident…
I was in an accident on March 2, 2022 when a delivery/box truck went in reverse on me at a stop light. Since March I havent had my vehicle.
I have made every attempt to contact Feldman Chrysler Jeep in Woodhaven, MI to get my car worked on a back to me since march. There has been so little communication at Feldman because they continued to dodge every call I made and make excuses for when my car would be ready. Originally I was told my car would be ready on May 5 its now July 15th. Several parts on order After patiently waiting for my brand new car (I drove less than the amount of time it was in the shop) they called today July 15th to come get it.
My husband, went and was completely shocked at the work that was done. Its unbelievable to think theyd give me my brand new 2021 car with 13k miles on it back the way they did. This car should have ultimately been a total loss in my opinion but since it was still worth so much there was no way it would be replaced. I drove by this body shop with my husband ever week and saw it sitting outside the dealership with the hood wide open and birds flying out of the engine.
Then to go in months after that and see it in the bay with doors off, and exposure to paint, dust, dirt etc. They also made a point (today) to tell me they put new rotors on it because it sat for so long and they didnt charge me for themha. Im sure there a LOT more that needs to be charged to them at this point. I felt completely comfortable after talking to Tom the manager originally about my car being at Feldman because theyd take care of me and make sure it was put back together as if it never happened- wait until you see the pictures.
(Its also where we bought the vehicle) If the outside of this car looks the way it does what about everything I cant see? What about the fuses, recalls, electrical? (That they told me that had issues with just 2 days ago!) I will not put my familys safety on the line and I will not drive that car until its perfectly put back together. I am a LONG time Chrysler Jeep and Dodge customer.
My dad retired from Trenton Engine after 30 years of service and we have only had the best vehicles from you. If anyone is sick about this service-its him. Unbelievable. Not once did Feldman contact ME during the work on my car for 5 months.
I called every time to check in to get a run-around on parts, labor, the 9 recalls, fuses, electrical etc. how does that possibly make a loyal customer feel? Whats funny, is during these 5 months we bought a brand new 2022 GT RAM from Feldman and turned in our 2019 Jeep Rubican so they could re sell it. Thats the loyalty you have from us.
What do we get? Nothing but a botched up bondoed looking misaligned brand new car. We have had so many brand new cars from Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge. My first car was a 2000 dodge neon.
Never turned back! This 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L was by far my most favorite of ALL the cars Ive EVER had. 3rd row for my babies, a Jeep, sleek design, towing capacity for our camper etc the GCL had everything I ever wanted until now. Now Im scared to drive it.
Since I got my car- Tom no longer works at the body shop and Jason has taken over as of this week. That also concerns me when looking back on this entire situation.
